Overview

A series of PBR material studies focused on accurately recreating real-world surfaces — glazed ceramics, rough stone, natural organic textures, and more. Each material is an exercise in observing how light interacts with different surfaces and translating that into shader parameters.

Process

Each study begins with real-world reference, breaking down how a surface reflects, absorbs, and scatters light. The goal is to capture the subtle details that make a material feel authentic — the unevenness of a glaze, the micro-roughness of worn stone, the subsurface variation in natural surfaces.
